2018 "Solo" Sangiovese — SOLD OUT
~ Margaret River, Western Australia
93 points, The Real Review
The serious stuff:
Sourced from 10 year old Sangiovese vines in the deep south of Margaret River, hand harvested, de-stemmed and crushed into open top concrete fermenters and left on skins for 7 days.
Raised in French oak barriques for 18 months; 10% new and 90% seasoned oak.
But, what does it taste like?
Bright and energetic with soft, pure aromatics and a whiff of dusty oak. Cherry cola and strawberry lead to gentle tomato leaf tannins and bright acidity to polish off. Just delicious!
The Black Rooster takes to the stage, performing "Solo".
